I’m In Pain
Dr. Shepherd on Reserved Emergency Appointments
Read Transcript
So we reserve spots in every day's schedule for emergencies. We realize that you don't know most of the time that your tooth is going to break in half, or that you're going to bite down on an M&M and something is going to give you a sharp pain. So we actually reserve spots in our schedule every day for emergency treatment. Our team is not allowed to book those appointments under any circumstance, unless that patient called today. If by chance, we don't have an emergency, we have an extra long lunch.
We don't generally see patients on the weekend but we always have a doctor on call. So when you call into the office on the weekend it goes, it will forward you to one of the doctor's cell phones. So yeah, you've got somebody after hours that you can get ahold of.
Get Help With Dental Pain Fast
Because dental pain can happen at any time, we have an associate on call to handle dental emergencies for all of our current patients.
If you are a new patient, don’t fret – we typically set aside time in our daily office hours and will most likely be able to get you a same-day appointment!
Don’t Ignore Dental Pain
If you are in pain, it’s a dental emergency. For starters, we don’t want you to experience any dental discomfort, but your pain also could signal a more serious problem.
What feels like a simple toothache could actually be a decayed tooth in need of a tooth filling, or even an infected tooth that requires a root canal. Something as seemingly benign as a tense jaw could even be a symptom of a TMJ disorder.
No matter the cause of your pain, we will help determine it and get you the relief you need.
Comfort Options, Dental Sedation, Restorative Dentistry
If you are in pain when you visit our dental office, the first thing we’ll do is numb the area and do everything we can to make you comfortable. We will also provide various comfort options to put you at ease, including blankets, pillows, and headphones.
If you are nervous, we can also provide dental sedation options to help relieve your dental anxiety.
Once you are fully relaxed, we will repair your damaged smile with restorative dentistry treatments.
